LDS TOUR OF THE HOLY LAND

October 17-27, 2026

Day 1 – Saturday, October 17 – Depart the US and fly to Israel.


Day 2 – Sunday, October 18 - ARRIVAL IN ISRAEL – Arrive safely at beautiful Ben Gurion International Airport. Welcome by our representative, assistance with arrival formalities and after claiming luggage transfer to Tel Aviv. Check into the hotel, enjoy a welcome dinner and hopefully get a good night's sleep.

Day 3 – Monday, October 19 - CAESAREA-MT. CARMEL- NAZARETH – After a rich breakfast check out of the hotel and drive north along the Mediterranean to Caesarea to explore the ruins of this Roman and Crusader cities; built by Herod the Great, this is where Paul was imprisoned and sentenced and where Cornelius was converted to Christianity. Continue to Mt. Carmel, site of Elijah the Prophet’s dramatic contest against the false prophets of Ba'al and after which ascend to the top of Mt. Carmel in Haifa to explore the amazing Baha'i Gardens. We'll also stop to see the LDS graves in the German cemetery. Time permitting, visit Sepphoris (Zippori) where Jesus learned the building trade. Stop atop of Mt. Precipice to look over Nazareth, the city where Jesus spent most of His childhood. Continue east to the Sea of Galilee and check into your hotel by the Lake and enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 4 – Tuesday, October 20 -  THE COVENANT AND THE TRANSFIGURATION – After breakfast we'll depart to dedicate our day to following in the footsteps of Jesus. We'll begin by driving north through the Golan Heights and then drive to the Valley of Tears, site of a major battle in the Yom Kippur War at the foot of Mt. Hermon, the site where Abraham received the covenant with God, overlooking the Promise land.  Continue to Caesarea Philippi, also known as the Banias, one of the contributory streams of the Jordan River and where Jesus declared himself to Peter. We'll then visit Tel Dan where the tribe of Dan disobeyed God's order and created a Golden Calf.

Day 5 – Wednesday, October 21 - THE CRADLE OF CHRISTIANITY - MEGIDDO—After breakfast at the hotel drive to Megiddo to visit Tel Megiddo where we can see the remains of King Solomon’s stables, an altar from the time of Abraham and the magnificent water tunnel. We will then return to the Sea of Galilee and view the ancient "Jesus Boat" exhibited at the Yigal Alon Museum followed by a visit to Magdala, the archaeological site of the village of Mary Magdalene.  We'll stop for a delicious St. Peter’s Fish lunch before visiting Capernaum on the shores of the Lake, where Jesus began His Ministry and walk through the ruins of this 1st century AD fishing village. Visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.  From there we'll stop at Tabgha to view the beautiful mosaic floor depicting the Miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish which took place here. We'll end the day's touring with a sail across the Sea of Galilee in a wooden boat.

Day 6 – Thursday, October 22 - JORDAN VALLEY – DEAD SEA - After breakfast and check out we'll begin the drive south towards the Dead Sea Basin, stopping first at Beit Shean, Israel's largest archeological site; we'll explore this ancient Roman City, its amphitheater and reconstructed streets. Drive by Mt. Gilboa and before continuing along the Jordan Valley Rift to the baptismal site at Kasr el-Yehud, just across from Jericho. From there we'll continue south to Shilo, where the Tabernacle was housed for 369 years. We'll stop for lunch on own and continue to our hotel on the shores of the Dead Sea. After checking in the rest of the day will be at leisure for relaxing and with time to enjoy floating on the Dead Sea and perhaps book a spa treatment (on own account).

Day 7 - Friday, October 23 – FROM DEAD SEA TO JERUSALEM - Following breakfast we'll check out and ascend to Masada, site of the Zealots' last stand against the Romans Legionnaires; Masada was originally built as a magnificent palace for Herod the Great and you can view the bathhouse, storage rooms, the mosaics and the Byzantine Church. We'll then drive to Ein Gedi, the largest oasis along the western shores of the Dead Sea.; Ein Gedi served as one of the main places of refuge for David as he fled from Saul and this is where many of the Psalms were written. Stop at Qumran, the place where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and have lunch on own. We then ascend to Jerusalem, stopping on our way to view of St. George’s Monastery in the Valley of the Shadow. We'll then enter the city of Jerusalem from the east and stop atop of the Mount Scopus at the BYU center for a magnificent view of the Old City we'll drive to the hotel, check in and enjoy dinner.

Day 8 – Saturday, October 24- FOUNDATIONS OF FAITH – Following an early breakfast we’ll depart the hotel and proceed to the BYU Center for an LDS Shabbat service. Following services, we'll walk through the Orson Hyde Park and Gardens We'll enter the Old City through Lion’s Gate and begin with a walk along the Via Dolorosa, visiting the many Stations of the Cross. Along the way we'll visit the Pool of Bethesda and Herod's Palace. After lunch on own we'll climb up to the rooftops of the Old City at the Austrian Hospice and from there visit the Redeemer Lutheran Church and finally the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Time and energy permitting, spend some time in the famous Arab bazaar.

Day 9 – Sunday, October 25 - CITY OF DAVID–POOL OF SILOAM- JEWISH QUARTER - Today after breakfast we'll return to Jerusalem's Old City and begin with a visit to the City of David including Hezekiah's Tunnel and view the Pool of Siloam. Afterwards we'll visit the Southern Steps of the Temple Mount where you will walk on the original steps that lead up from the Kidron Valley to the main entrance of the Temple. From there we'll continue to the Western Wall followed by a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels, where hidden layers of the Wall are revealed underground and tell the story of ancient Jerusalem. Following lunch on own in the Jewish Quarter we'll explore the Cardo, and We will walk by the ruins of Hezekiah's Wall, the main business thoroughfare of Byzantine Jerusalem and continue to Mount Zion to visit the Upper Room, site of the Last Supper, and Caiphas’ House.” Return to the hotel.

Day 10 – Monday, October 26 - THE TEMPLE MOUNT- GARDEN TOMB-MUSEUMS-BETHELEHEM – After an early breakfast we'll return one more time to the Old City to visit the Temple Mount where we'll view the Dome of the Rock. From there we'll proceed to the Garden Tomb, where we will have time for prayer. We'll drive by the Knesset, Israel's Parliament building, to the Bible Lands Museum and then the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are preserved and presented, and the Model of Ancient Jerusalem, both part of the Israel Museum complex. After lunch on own we'll drive out of Jerusalem and stop on a hill looking over the Shepherd's Fields and overlooking Rachel’s tomb and Bethlehem, with a possible visit to the city.

Day 11 – Tuesday, October 27 - YAD VASHEM-EMMAUS-JAFFA- Following breakfast and check out we'll proceed to Yad Vashem, Israel's main Holocaust Memorial and Museum. We'll depart Jerusalem and drive west via Emmaus, where Jesus was first seen after the crucifixion.  Continue to Tel Aviv and stop by Independence Hall, where David Ben Gurion declared Israel's Independence on May 14, 1948 (the site is closed for renovations we hope it will be open by 2026). Then proceed to the Palmach Museum which relates the story of the young boys and girls who made up the militia that fought in Israel's War of Independence. Next proceed to Joppa (present-day Jaffa) from which Jonah embarked prior to his encounter with the whale. View the house of Simon the Tanner, on whose roof Peter had his vision that led to the baptism of Cornelius. In the evening, we will enjoy our delicious farewell dinner, perhaps at the Tel Aviv Port, before transferring to Ben Gurion Airport for the flight home.

 

Day 12 – Wednesday, October 28 - Arrive back in the USA, hopefully with unforgettable memories!

POSSIBLE CHANGES:

Nitzan Israel Travel Services LTD Will not be held responsible for cancellation due to unexpected and unforeseen local conditions beyond control of Travel agent that can prevent the completion of an itinerary or necessitate alterations in the itinerary. Such local conditions include inclement seasonal variations in climate, changing in airline schedules and equipment, government appropriation of hotel space, labor strikes, civil disturbances or political unrest, etc., events that are beyond the Tour Operator control, and will jeopardize the travelers' comfort, safety, health and enjoyment. In these events the Tour Operator reserves the right to alter or curtail the itinerary as is deemed necessary. The Tour Operator will endeavor, in each case to provide comparable substitute or effect refunds. Any savings realized for these changes will be passed to the traveler and any resultant expanses borne by the traveler. Accidents in route may require you to miss part of your return to the U.S. WE STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO HAVE COMPREHENSIVE TRAVEL INSURANCE (medical, accident, baggage, trip cancellation etc.). As a convenience the Tour Operator or your Travel Agent will supply you with application upon receipt of your reservation. If costs do fluctuate due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to alter our quoted price to you.


Acceptance of any travel plan shall be deemed to constitute acceptance of this limitation of responsibility.


The person making any booking will, by the making of such booking, warrant that he or she has authority to enter into a contract on behalf of the other person/s included in such a booking and in the event of the failure of any or all of the other person/s so included to make payment, the person making the booking shall by his/her signature thereof assume personal liability for the total price of all bookings made by him/her.


For and in consideration of the tour services by Nitzan Israel Travel Services LTD. (hereafter "Tour Operators"), I hereby release and hold harmless Tour Operators and any of their agents or assigns from any and all claims arising out of their ordinary negligence for any and all risks inherent in the tour and/or inherent in transit to or from the tour destinations described herein.


I/We accept all responsibility for any and all costs arising out of treatment for injuries or damages suffered while taking part in the tour.


Any and all claims or disputes between the parties hereto shall be resolved in the courts of Israel and under Israeli law.


I give Nitzan Travel Services LTD. the right to use any photograph or video recording which includes my image or any audio recording which includes my voice, taken on the trip, unless otherwise indicated by checking this box.
